George IV Sterling Silver Soup Tureen
A fine quality George IV sterling silver soup tureen by William Bateman, hallmarked London 1824. Oval, with acanthus handles and four lion's paw, shell and acanthus feet, the domed lid with lion's mask and acanthus handle. Engraved with the coat-of-arms and crest of Sir Thomas Buckler Lethbridge, (1778–1849) 2nd Baronet of Sandhill Park, Bishops Lydeard, Somerset, and his second wife Anne (Goddard).
