01123 - Royal Hot Water Jug

A sterling silver hot water jug with royal association, hallmarked London 1834 by Robert Garrard (silversmith to the royal family). Fine quality and good weight, with loop handle, flush hinge and gilt interior. 7.75" high, 19 troy oz.

Engraved with the cipher of William IV on the side and lid and also engraved with a royal ducal coronet over the initials AS (for Princess Augusta Sophia). This piece was presumably a gift from the Princess to her brother William IV, king of England)
