Massive Victorian Silver Salver

A massive Victorian sterling silver salver hallmarked Sheffield 1844 by John Watson & Son. Circular with applied scroll border and beautiful flat chased interior in the rococo style. 21.5" (54.5cm) in diameter, 105.5 troy oz. Engraved with a presentation inscription that reads:

"Presented to Carrington Nunn, Esq by his neighbours and friends in token of their personal esteem, and as a testimony of their appreciation of the liberal and sportsmanlike manner in which he has hunted the Essex and Suffolk country for 21 seasons, 1844."

Carrington Nunn Esq was Master of the Essex and Suffolk Hunt from 1808 - 1844.
