01568 - William Frisbee Cup & Cover
A George III sterling silver cup and cover hallmarked London 1806 by William Frisbee. Urn shaped with fluted decoration, straight gadroon mounts and a pomegranate finial. Tau shaped handles fitted with acanthus leaf mounts. Engraved with a presentation inscription "RW to her grandson / THW / 3rd Dec. 1808". 12 3/4" (32.5cm) high, 9" (13cm) across the handles, 46 troy oz (1427g).
Frisbee is a highly regarded silversmith who was in partnership with Paul Storr at the end of the 18th century.
