A superb Victorian sterling silver and parcel gilt casket by Elkington & Co., hallmarked Birmingham 1863. In the Renaissance style, rectangular on four swan feet, the front and back decorated with the scene of Poseidon and Amphitrite in a chariot with attendant hippocamps and mermen, the cover with the scene of a reclining maenad and bacchic putti in high relief. 12" x 5.25", 73 troy oz.
