George III Silver Tea Tray

A George III sterling silver tea tray hallmarked London 1800 by George Smith & Thomas Hayter (over struck with another mark, possibly William Bennett). Classical shape with acanthus capped reeded handles and reeded edge. 20.25 inches from handle to handle, 13 inches wide, 52 troy oz.

The arms are those of Charles Henry St. John O'Neill, the first and last Earl O'Neill (d.1841), Lord O'Neill was a Knight of the Order of St. Patrick, Lord Lieutenant for Co. Antrim and Lord High Admiral of Ulster.
