George III Oval Salver

A George III sterling silver salver hallmarked London 1796 by William Bennett. Oval with reed edge of four feet, engraved with the arms of the Tinten family of St. Tudy, Cornwall and motto "Aut Nunquam Tentes Vel Perfice" (Either do not attempt, or complete). 14 1/4", 30.4 troy oz.

Tinten Manor, in St Tudy was the birthplace of the Captain William Bligh (Mutiny on the Bounty).
